Cracks

Cracks are a common problem that homeowners face with a crawl space foundation. They are a result of the foundation shifting and settling. Poor soil conditions and seasons changing will stress the foundation causing cracks. The cracks can be noticeable in the exterior and even in the interior of the home.

Typically interior cracks are found above windows, doors, and corners. If you notice interior or exterior cracks, it is vital to get an expert and advise you on the situation.
Slanting/Sloping Floors

The lack of floor joist support can cause slanting/sloping floors. The support system aka girder system is an essential part of the crawl space foundation. A girder system is beams that run perpendicular to the floor joist and are supported by posts that are strapped to the beam and concrete pads that are embedded.

If the beams are not evenly spaced, posts are not strapped, and/or concrete pads are not embedded, it can cause slanting/sloping floors.
